Peter Mellor is the inspiration behind the brand Petey Pie.

Peter was born in January of 2021 with severe brain defects due to a random genetic mutation called TUBa1a. He was not expected to live long and was on hospice care for the first four months of his life. His brain defects resulted in many conditions and the need for a feeding tube. Despite all his complexities, he has reached many milestones that are far beyond what anyone could have predicted. He is extremely happy and loves to make OTHERS happy.

The “Ultimate Romper” was designed with details that we have realized are essential for Peter’s sleep. The fold over hands and feet keep him warm and the two-way zipper allows for his cords to feed out around his ankle rather than his neck. The zippers also make for easier diaper changes and tube feeds.

The bamboo is ideal for Peter’s eczema as it is breathable and very soft. Because of the stretch and the foldable cuffs, these rompers have lasted the longest out of all his pajamas. They seem to grow WITH him!
